Just sat down and worked this up. I love the sound of an open string ringing while playing a segment; so play this from B back to E.

I hope you like it and can use it. I'm still not that familiar with tablature, because I never really worked with it before. I'm trying to learn how to write it and read it better, because I am also trying to teach my students that way; it really speeds up the learning process; so any help with my writing this stuff is appreciated. thanks,

Ok, I tried to edit it b0b and can't seem to get it lined up. I did the tab code like before but it didn't work right.
Anyways; the 9's line up and the 8's line up and the 7's line up with the open 3rd string on the last line. The open string rings throughout. Sorry for the mess; I hate when that happens; It just looks like a bunch of crap; but I hope it makes since.

Ricky, try writing the tab in Notepad, Edit/Select All and Edit/Copy, then go back to your Web browser, click where you want in the text entry box and Edit/Paste.
Afterwards you can go back to Notepad and File/Save into a text file for your students.

I just added the Notepad trick to the "Directions For Posting TAB" announcement at the top of the index page. I think that it's the best method. I'm not sure what equivalent program exists on the Mac.

That's great b0b that you added it to the directions; I would suggest using that method because it works great and it is much easier. One more question: do you still need to surround the thing with the [tab] for it to line up on here. I went ahead and did it on just that last one, cause I wasn't sure; but just wondering if we need to do it when we write tab in Notebook and paste it here. Thanks for a great forum and continuing to make our lives much easier.

Yes, you still need to use the UBB code to make the tab work in a message, even if you paste from Notepad. |

an equivilent program does exist on the Mac, b0b- funny, but it's called "Note Pad" , and it's under the Apple Menu.
Simple Text or BBEdit also generate vanilla ASCII text files that should do the trick. |

Ricky, if you're reading this, I'd sure appreciate any input you might have on my bar lifting question in Bar Chatter. |
