Recently, I have been receiving a notice of "new downloads available" on my Windows XP. Twice, I have checked the url for download, and it has screwed up my e-mail until I had to use "GoBack" to return everything to a usable configuration.
Do you have any insight about what is happening here? |

Sounds like a "Trojan Horse" type of spyware or adware type of computer virus. I had a similar experience where I was using Windows Media Player to listen to one of my CD's.
While the CD plays, the Media Player displays info about the CD and also displays similar artists and the like that supposedly you can click on to open a webpage or whatever.
Well, when I clicked on one of these links that was displayed on the Media Player, it screwed my computer up so bad that I had to do what you did, Gene, and restore my computer to a previous check point setting.
I guess things have gotten so bad with any type of Microsoft product that you basically can't use them anymore without fear of screwing up you computer. |
