The picture Chris posted is of a round (Spanish) neck Sho-Bro The square neck models usually featured a flat metal fretboard white in color with the familiar Sho-Bud card symbol fret position markers |

I had one of those about 30 years ago which was a 7 string version. I had the regular Dobro G tuning on strings 1,2,3,5,6,& 7. The 4th string was tuned to an E note so it was like a G6th tuning. I was needing an electric guitar so I traded it to a music store for a Telecaster. I wish I hadn't done that as the Tele's been gone a long time and I'd still probably have the ShoBro. I remember that mine was larger than most Dobros and had a pretty loud sound. I think I got it from Blackie Taylor's store in the late sixties and that's probably where it went back to but those days are kinda fuzzy at times....JH in Va.

There was one in a music store near me a month ago It was a square neck with the white Sho Bud fret board six string. i would have got it but the neck looked like a banna and they wanted $700 for it. It sounded good though. |

Apparently bowing of the neck was an issue with some Sho-Bros-I have seen both round and square neck models with this problem-The wider than standard size body was taken from the "Norwood Chimes" Dobro model that featured the jumbo size body |
