Steel Podcast #10 & 11: Chris Parker and Jerry Douglas

I'm a bit slow in posting but I'm happy to share a couple of recent episodes of the Steel podcast.

Episode 10 features Chris Parker, a wonderfully innovative slide guitar player who has found some interesting ways of imitating quintessential pedal steel sounds with just his guitar + a slide. He's a fascinating player and one of my absolute favorite folks to see live around town. He combines interesting techniques, beautiful use of effects, with a ridiculously deep musicality. He always sounds interesting, artistic and soulful. More people should know about him.

Episode 11 is the legendary Jerry Douglas. Jerry clearly needs no introduction here. He is without doubt one of the most recorded, most accomplished, most expressive folks to ever pick up a bar. I'll just say it was a treat to talk with him for a couple of hours about his new record, his life playing music, and all that stuff. I'm lucky!
