Howdy everyone, My name is Riggs Horton, I grew up listening to pedal steel, and when I was 15, I finally got my first lap steel, a Rogue 6 string in C6, boy did I love and play that thing all the time! I've been playing for 3 years now, and I've decided that steel is my favorite instrument! Recently, I upgraded to an SX 8 string in A6, I just didn't know how big of a difference the extra strings and nicer pickup would make, I just can't stop playing it! I also play a little Dobro, for about a year now, I got Rogue square neck. Someday I'd like to own A Fender Stringmaster Double Neck Lap Steel, and I'm dying to get a 10 string 3/4 Pedal Steel, but both of those are going to be way out of my price range for quite a while! I also would love to learn how to build lap steels, they don't seem too complicated to make. I'm very excited to finally join this forum, I know I'll learn a lot from y'all! Steel is the best! Here's me playing a little on my Steel, I have not had any lessons yet, but still enjoy playing! https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1Q9YfoXjbe/ _________________ Riggs Horton |

Really nice Riggs. You're well on your way, and self taught, that's pretty impressive. Welcome to the forum, good to have you here. |

Welcome Riggs. Start keeping your eyes open for deals, and squirrelling money away so that you can jump on them when they arise. I was able to land my Carter Starter for a steal, after a random chance encounter with an old dude in a hotel lobby. I was sure glad I had some "steel money" stashed. _________________ Carter Starter, Austin dobro, B/G Bender Telecaster, '75 Twin Reverb, '75 Super Reverb 1x15 |
