Does anyone know the respective Ohm readings for the various narrow-mount pick-ups Mullen offers? (royal precision, discovery, pre-RP) |

I would like to point out, that Mullen single coils, uses a smaller wire to wind their pickups, than the 42 wire used in Emmons or TrueTone single coils. So, most of the readings you’re going to see for Mullen single coils, are going to read over 20k, I’m thinking around 23 to 26k. |

Interesting. I have a couple of used ones that read 17k and 19k. |

Unless they’ve changed wire size, every Mullen I’ve ever had with single coils, read 20k and over. I’ve had two G2’s but those guitars had 705 pickups. I’ve had some Pre-RP guitars with single coils, and, I ordered a couple of special single coils, that were designed specifically for Herby Wallace. It was a unique bobbin design, and those pickups were wound to 21k. I suppose if someone wanted a little brighter tone, 17k and 19k would get you in the brighter range, 19k wouldn’t be too bad. I don’t know a great about electronics, except that smaller sized wires, for some reason, need more winds, to get the sound of a single coil, with 42 gauge wire. I’m sure there’s other factors too, but just from what experience I’ve had, with Mullen single coils, that’s what they’ve been reading. |

I suppose it's possible they're not Mullens, but they have a smaller magnet and thicker base plate than trutones, with a less pronounced white "ridge" around the top.
Truetones on the top, Mullens on the bottom.
