Good morning fellow pickers,
I have just received word that the first production run of this preamp pedal of the ORIGINAL Peavey Session 400 preamp (first steel steel amp from the early 70's) is scheduled (not promised) for May 2025.
I am taking Pre-Orders now.
At this time, I don't know how many of these I will receive from the first batch, therefore these will be First Come / First Serve item.
I don't have an exact price, but AS OF NOW, the MAP price will be right around $200.00.
If you would like to be on the waiting list, please EMAIL me (not PM, not Phone) your information as follows:
Name
Address
Phone #
Email address
I will create a Wait List and notify you via email when these are ready to ship.
Testing of this product has received great reviews. I know the prototype is a Super Duper product.
I am using mine into the Post EQ input of my Nashville 112 (in order to use the internal reverb of the Nashville 112) and it sounds very close to the original Session 400, only with a 12" speaker.
I have tested the Session-LTD pedal also with my NV112 connected to the new Celestion 15" Neo that will be used in the upcoming Session/Nashville 112 or 115 amplifier from Peavey (hopefully in the next few months.
Kudos to Hartley Peavey, John Fields (engineer) for continueing there longstanding support of the steel guitar.

Bill. I've noticed the pots don't show a cut and boost feature on each knob, (ccw = cut and cw = boost) with 0 right on top. Can you explain why? I like the price.. RP
Update- I just checked pictures of session 400 amps. None show this 0 on top layout. Then I guess the ? is, does that mean that when the pots on the 400's are straight up, is that still the flat EQ setting? _________________ Emmons SKH Le Grande, '73 Fender P/J bass, Tick tack bass, Regal high strung, USA Nashville 112. |

Ron, That's a good question on the Session EQ because it had a passive mid control. I could experiment with it but I think the closest thing you'd get to a truly flat setting would be with the mids on 10 and bass/treble halfway. It's identical to the old Session preamp, in any event, so similar settings will yield similar results. _________________ Thanks,

Thanks John. Interesting. Just when I thought the best settings were by cutting about 800 cycles about 12 db+, I now see the nomenclature on these older amps, is different..
(#1- You can't see what frequency you are actually selecting. (#2- You can't cut anything; but you can boost everything else but what you want lowered. Then just maybe lower the gain to compensate for all the boosting. I do know that people love the Session so it must be possible to get a great sound with this pre-amp.
