I’m considering adding Rondo legs and sockets to a single neck guitar. I seek opinions about the utility and durability of these legs. Rondo owners?
Thanks
Jim

Reading the ad it seems ambiguous as to whether it comes with a socket to mount on the guitar. It's not shown in the picture, and it seems like it's just a replacement leg for their guitars. I would contact them and confirm before ordering. _________________ "To live outside the law you must be honest." (Bob Dylan) |

I confirmed that sockets can be supplied with the legs.

Depending on the instrument, I would personally prefer procuring a Deluxe34. More versatile, and would not devalue the instrument. |

They are significantly less substantial in both diameter and weight than the std steel guitar legs, like those used in the DeLuxe 34 stands. I think they would be ok for sitting, but there is a lot of wobble when you use them to play standing. The threads piece came loose in one of mine, and I had to have a welding shop fix it. Hard to beat the price, though. If you can find a source for sockets, you might want to check out this guy, who makes them out of microphone stand legs: $75 per set of 3, and he'll likely put whatever threads you prefer in them (he started doing this to make legs that would fit older Fenders (3/4 - 10 threads, I think), but I asked him to make a set with 1/2-13 threads, and it was not a problem. The Steel Cowboy: phillipeveringham@gmail.com. He sells on eBay. His legs are an improvement over the Rondo legs imho. |
