I am considering this one or the larger one. Any thoughts? Not sure about the media. Mostly I would use it for aluminum. https://www.harborfreight.com/5-lb-metal-vibratory-bowl-59476.html

I use this "Rock Tumbler" for the last 20 years for all my small metal/aluminum parts/screws...etc...
I put in several squirts of Dawn and Rinse aid and water and BB's as my media; and that's it...in 30 to 45 min...they all are brand new looking>

I use a tumbler like Ricky with the ceramic abracive to remove machining marks and burrs leaves a nice even finish.

Those look nice! Harbor freight has ceramic too. I can't believe I have been using sandpaper.

It does take a few hours to do these and the abrasive pices will get stuck in the holes but not hard to get out.

I am thinking it would be better to do threading after tumbling for this reason.

Ricky, Thanks for the tumbler info. The Mullens S12 I bought out of Maine, Lived in a house very close to the ocean. It has a white fuzz on some of the aluminum parts underneath. Especially the bell cranks.
