How can I figure out if a bar is Chrome or stainless steel? Does the bar determine the type of strings I should use? |

Some say that a stainless bar used on stainless wound strings causes some drag and noise. I found that to be true too, but quit using stainless wound decades ago. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Chrome plating is a "colder" colour than stainless steel; a sort of faint bluish feel as opposed to the stainless which looks warmer, more like silver or nickel. Put them beside each other, and you'll see the difference right away. |
