I just came across these recently and I'm wondering if any of you have experience with Richard Wilson. I see theres a few videos on the weissenborns but what about the chambered solid body lap steels?

Richard Wilson’s work as well as the other high end Weiss makers (Bear Creek, et Al) were on my radar… but their prices were just above what I was willing to pay… until a Richard Wilson all mahogany Style 1 Weiss from 2015 showed up at a 2nd hand music shop in Denver for a pretty good price. I snagged it. It definitely has a superior overall tone vs my other acoustic lap steels. Warm, great projection, easy playing, clean build, keeps a tune. I reach for it most if the time. In Open D, open G it’s great, but I keep it in a modal C tuning I learned from Steve Dawson. Works great.

Mark, I guess you're the only one to have a Richard Wilson lap steel so good for you! Glad to hear you like it. Thanks for the response.
