Or does someone make repros? I accidentally purchased a studio console model (champion that can be used as console), but didn’t realize it didn’t have the original legs

Can anyone help me source legs (I mean I have others from other steels), but if anyone is selling them or reproducing good or affordable legs that will fit the holes, please share.

Original fender legs would be ideal!

Hi Matthew,

You can get Fender Rhodes legs, they will fit. Make sure you get front legs, the back ones are different. Only the front ones are telescopic. On the vintage vibe web site, you can buy individual legs and pick which ones you want.

I bought the Vintage Vibe legs for my '51 Custom T8. The legs have a 3/4" thread and fit in the Custom. At some point Fender changed to a smaller thread (1/2" or 5/8"?). The VV legs do not fit my '56 Stringmaster. Whatever legs you find, you'll need to check the thread size on your guitar to make sure they will fit.

Tim,
I think someone must have changed out the sockets on your '56 Stringmaster. I've owned several stringmasters, from '53-'59 and they all had the 3/4" thread sockets. Good advice to verify before you buy though.

That's interesting. I bought it in '94 with the well worn legs and sockets. The sockets are at the correct splayed angles for the Stringmaster, so this indicates to me that they are Stringmaster specific. But I suppose it could be possible they were replaced.

Also, something to note: the Vintage Vibe replacement legs I got for my Custom are an inch longer that my Stringmaster legs. I can't get the guitar to sit as low as I would like, when adjusted to the lowest level.

Anyway, good luck with your search! Original legs rarely come up for sale and are often pricey, so after watching Reverb and eBay for months I decided to bite the bullet and get the VV legs.

Another possibility is that someone installed 1/2" X 13 helicoils in the original sockets. I did that on a National console that came to me with 5/8" sockets and no legs. You think 3/4" thread legs are hard to find!

Tim, they could be those replacement leg sockets Bobbe Seymour used to sell.

Matthew, if you already have legs with 1/2" threads, you can get some threaded inserts for the original sockets to adapt them to your legs. I have gotten them from McMaster-Carr.

I've used these https://www.cvkeyboards.com/collections/fender-rhodes-rhodes-parts/products/rhodes-stage-model-legs from custom vintage keyboards on a stringmaster, and they worked great if you don't need them to get any taller.

These work great to adapt standard 1/2" legs for old Fenders, 5 for $8.55: https://www.amazon.com/Z-Externally-Threaded-Internal-External/dp/B002QUZNU4/?th=1. You can remove the loctite with paint stripper and a wire brush
