Two separate tunings, but same rhythm track.

To me the two tunings are not "comparable"... the whole mindset when playing E9th is just so different to C6th, even thou, while Jerry Byrd has "invented" C6th, E9th for it's harmonic morphing ability of string pairs (3rds and 6ths) lends it self to JB's playing (canceling the need for slants), it's to me probably more different than going from Tenor Sax to Flute or Clarinete.

E9th has mainly one chord across the strings, without any change engaged, modern C6th (BE) has 3, arguably 4 full chords across the strings but string pairs are less connected along the strings.

But it's a commendable exercise and respectable achievement to have "translated" these lines from one tuning to the other!

BE is noted to have played "E9th" on C6th... so well, only video uncovered the "magic" going on. Seems that playing "C6th" sounds on E9th is easier because of the combination of B6th (E's dropped) and A6th (A&B down) and it's D-string (#9)-sounds akin to C6th's P6 position.

Both tunings and setup are genius inventions, especially Bud Isaak's early 1-pedal E9th for it's simplicity yet musical thinking ("things" tend to move in 4ths! in Western Music!).
