On the hunt for a single ten lap steel. Not sure what to expect for prices but curious what's out there. |

Bob Allen at Melbert Guitars makes custom 10-strings in several body designs, you can't beat them for the money. He sometimes has seconds or trade-ins at a discount. https://melbertguitars.com/ _________________ Long-time guitar player, now wrestling with lap steel. |

I have a hand made 10 string console steel guitar. I may as well put it up for sale because I never play it. I don't know who made this, but they did a very good job. It has an Emmons neck and keyhead (no rollers)A Bill Laurence chrome surround picup with a Q filter, tone and vol. controls. The neck seems to be a slightly altered Emmons bolt/on neck. I recently sold the four legs that came with it. I don't have a case, but it will be packed well for shipping. If I have your actual email address, I can send photos. I'm asking $800. plus shipping. Thanks, Tommy..... |

Ten string laps are an odd duck Cuz!
They are out there though, Derby made them, Bill Merritt of "SLYDE" guitars made them, Duane Marrs, Paul Franklin SR., and I'm sure a few others.
Easy enough to just make one yourself also, here is 6 string I made from stuff laying around the shop and a scrap piece of 2 X 4 from when they built my back deck. Strings load through body Tele style.
Could have easily made it a ten with the correct tuning machines.
I call it the "SHO~STUD" Ha!
Total investment about 30 bucks not counting the six strings and six Stella Artois.

Ha hey cuz!
Yeah I'm starting to realize that although I'm surprised they're not more popular for C6 players who don't want to carry around a D10 all the time. Yeah I saw a derby one an I had my eyes on a clinesmith Joaquin model too but that'll have to wait.
Nice job on the show stud! Ive never been to crafty but probably would do me some good to give it a try. Anyway I did find one that I'm pretty exited about |
