Hi Folks,
I might sell my 1994 sho bud pro III (aluminum neck). It's in perfectly working order and cosmetically very neat.
What would be the current value for these buds?
Thanks!! |

I assume that's a typo and you mean 1974?
My opinion: if the guitar was on this side of the Atlantic, it would sell for about $2500 (and shipping would be extra) -- maybe more if the finish were especially pretty, or the mechanics nearly perfect.
But I'm guessing that's a very rare instrument in Europe, so it will sell for a lot more there. You should add in whatever it costs to ship a US-made steel there, plus importation taxes. |

Thanks Tucker,
No not a type error, serial number is 18677 which would mean: built in juin 1994. I guess one of the last made...
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Yes, many don't know that Fred Gretsch bought Sho-Bud from Shot Jackson mid '80's before Shot died. Gretsch did continue to build Sho-bud Pedal steels almost through the 90's with all the same materials sho-bud made starting from 1978. Hard to say how much to sell for; as pricing has become insane. I would say; how much did you pay for it? then add 5 to 8 hundred on to that.
