Hey all, welcome to the eighth Friday of cover tunes from The Fender 400 Beatle Band!
Today we'll move to what many consider The Beatles greatest album, "Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band".
I'll be presenting 2 songs, one well known from the 1967 album and the other quite obscure and recorded for the album but shelved for another couple of years and finally appearing in the 1969 film, "Yellow Submarine" and released on the soundtrack album of the same name.
First up is "She's Leaving Home" which was originally released as the final track on side 1 (for those of us who grew up on vinyl). Like the original, this one has no bass or drum parts featuring only Fender 400 to recreate all the vocals, cellos, and other string and distinctive harp parts. You can check that out here:

Next up is George's "Only a Northern Song". Also recorded in '67 for the "Sgt Peppers..." album, it was resoundly deemed not good enough by the rest of the band and producer George Martin. Harrison was told to start again and bring them a better song and he came through with the Indian raga influenced, "Within You Without You" which fit in with the other eclectic songs perfectly. This one features the full Fender 400/Rick 4001/Roland TD7 band and was lots of fun recreating the dissonant horns and other unusual instruments on the Fender 400. You can check that out here:
