I have for sale a mahogany RQ Jones solid peg head model from 1983 that Gene Wooten won in the Dobro Nut Magazine contest. These guitars are incredibly rare and truly priceless. I would sell to the right player-not a collector or enthusiast.
Setup by Tim Scheerhorn. This guitar has the two open slots that many of his guitars have. Rudy like to build things like knots and burls into his instruments.
The thing sounds incredible and is truly one of the magnificent Mahogany Jones guitars.
There is what looks like a Schertler pickup
Mounted to the spider. The pickup sound is very good. If you are looking for a fantastic Mahogany Jones-this is it.
Price is $4000 in original hard case. You cover shipping and full insurance.
The mahogany guitar pictured is nearly identical to the one Mr Douglas donated to the CM HoF. _________________ Tab Tabscott

Amazing guitars! I was working in a band with Rudy when he was building these in Jeanette, OK in the late 70s. Great guy, too! A work of art! |

Could you explain what you mean by "two open slots". Are you referring to the vertical cracks near the tailpiece/tailblock? |
