Howdy All,
I grabbed this picture from a Fender Steel King posted on Reverb.com for sale in Germany.
It seems to show a (factory installed?) air vent on the top.
Has anyone seen one of these vents in the wild, or experienced overheating of their FSK without one?
Thanks for any insight.

No Steel Kings I have seen in person and many images online have this vent. Most likely added on by a previous owner.

Wasn't the Fender Steelking a combo amp??
Looks like they sererated the amp head and put it in an enclosure.
I could be wrong though...

It is a combo amp. Here is the Reverb listing for the amp.

This is a 230v version Steel King (per the ad). Maybe the vents were factory installed in the 230v amps.

That’s what I was thinking was a possibility.

OK, thanks everybody!

We'll leave this as a minor mystery, or as suggested, a user-installed modification.

The FSK schematic for the 220 volt export version shows only a transformer change to reflect the increased input voltage. All the rest of the circuits including power transistors are unchanged.
