Need to replace tuners on Crafters Tut Taylor Tennessean. Can't seem to find any exact replacements.
These are the measurements:
Mounting screws distance .87"/22.098mm
Shaft Hole Diameter .295/7.49mm
Height from back of tuner 1.33"/33.72mm
Height from top of tuner gear box .94"/23.87mm
Shaft 1/4"/6.35mm
Any suggestions? _________________ Everyone in the world has two jobs: 1) whatever they do for a living; and 2) music critic. |

I am anticipating having to fill in the small holes in the back of the headstock and having to re-drill for mounting new tuners.
Toothpicks and white glue to fill the small holes? Or is there a better way?
Thanks _________________ Everyone in the world has two jobs: 1) whatever they do for a living; and 2) music critic. |

Gotoh SD90s -- available with different plating and buttons -- will most likely drop right into the original holes, with no drilling involved. You will likely be able to reuse your original ferrules.
I have retrofitted SD90s in dozens of postwar Gibsons which were originally equipped with Kluson Deluxes. The new Gotohs are every bit as good -- if not superior to -- the original Klusons in my opinion.

None of those mentioned above have matching mounting hole distances.
I've run into the same problem trying to find better tuners for my Recording KIng Phul Leadbetter model, the measurements don't match any other tuning machine type. |

My Virginian has open gear Grovers. No idea if they were put on by the factory or by a previous owner. |

Thank you, Howard and Jack. Gotoh SD90s dropped right in and the screw holes lined up. I love it when things work out perfectly. _________________ Everyone in the world has two jobs: 1) whatever they do for a living; and 2) music critic. |
