I’ve been using a Goodrich 120 low profile pedal without issues until this weekend when I noticed the pedal was binding up near the last bit of travel toward the fully on position. At first I thought it was the toe of my shoe catching on the pedal rack blocking forward travel. It could be forced all the way “on” but not without a fair amount of resistance. Applying lubricant and re-threading the string helped initially, but after sitting for a day or so, the problem returned.

I removed the bottom plate to take a closer look again this evening…and it looks like the metal bracket that pot is mounted to is slightly bent and/or fatigued. I can tighten the nut on the pot, but it just pops loose again. The metal piece that attaches to the pot wiper also appears to be slightly deformed. Because the internal bracket where the pot attaches seems to be bent, I don’t see any reason to replace the pot which also is well within spec on the multimeter.

I bought it used and not sure how old it is, but it appears to be a slightly older one given the labels I’ve seen on some of the newer models. But I’ve used it without issue for several months.

Anyone have this problem? Suggestions?

Lucus,
Sometimes that bracket does get fatigued and will need to be replaced.

Send me a CLOSE UP picture and I might have a new one.

If not, Goodrich can supply you with a new bracket.
