This 712 Custom was originally ordered by and made for Larry Pattis, a truly masterful technician blending classical guitar with Acoustic Music. Larry was named one of the "Top 10 Best Acoustic Music Artists of the Decade" in 2010 by the International Acoustic Music Awards. Larry custom ordered this guitar from Taylor through a dealer called “Acoustic Music.” In the early 1990’s I purchased this instrument, as the second owner, from Goose Acres in Cleveland. It appealed to me as something of a steel string classical guitar. The fast “Lemon Grove” neck profile combined with a wider, flat fret board provides room for the clean fingering of more advanced chords and individual bass and melody-line note manipulation.
As you can see by the pictures, this instrument is in very good condition. The original frets show very little wear for an instrument that is 38 years old. The finish is bright and is a testimony to the nitro cellulose lacquer Taylor used at Lemon Grove.
There is a little finish damage on the very top of the tuning head of the guitar and a nick on the heel of the neck, both of which is shown in the pictures.
I take packaging instruments for shipping very seriously. The Taylor will be packaged very well to withstand the normal abuse expected from the usual shipping suspects. A refund of $50.00 will be made for local pick up with no packaging. See photos for an example of the typical packaging that you can expect for your shipment.
Lemon Grove Taylors are relatively scarce and this is a chance for you to own a great guitar and a piece of early Taylor History. There is a little finish damage on the very top of the tuning head of the guitar and a nick on the heel of the neck, both of which is shown in the pictures.
