What is the general opinion of best tuning for 6 string pedal steel? Open E OR E9? ALL WITH 2 PEDALS 2 KNEES _________________ I have a Tele plus telecaster, Larrivee acoustic. Also have a Fender resonator guitar with new Quarterman cone and spider, and an Allan tailpiece .Playing through a Fender Super Champ XD, using a little delay on the amp and a Harmonix Holy Grail Echo pedal, set on Hall turned to about 1pm.Just Bought a Yamaha FGX5 Recently and love it. Recently got a Sho-NUFF 6 string pedal steel in open G.Still learning. |

I personally rather have the middle 6 of E9.
I got 10 strings but those get the most attention. |

I just bought a new 6 string, 2 pedal, 2 knee pedal steel. Sho Nuff / Growler brand. It's supposed to come tomorrow.
I intend to tune it as E9, strings 3,4,5,6,7,8 of a conventional 10 string. _________________ Well up into mediocrity

I tend to agree. Then if you decide to trade up to 10 you can take your knowledge with you instead of having to relearn. _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!
