I've had this for a while but haven't really gotten into it. What model is this? Single neck, ten string, three pedals, four knee levers. _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel

I don't think Zumsteel ever did "models" with the exception of the Stage One student steel which Doug Earnest eventually took over manufacturing. Instead, as Bruce had better ideas of how to build his steels he would just incorporate the idea in the next new build.
Yours has the the pedal rods that come off the top of the pedal, versus later models that attach to the side of each pedal. I don't remember exactly when he changed over to the side-mount, but I'm guessing early or mid 90's? I've owned both and never noticed any difference in how they operated. I'm sure others know far more about all of this than I do. _________________ Bringing steel guitar to the bukid of Negros Oriental! |

Looks like an early Zum S10 to me. I had one identical to this years ago and sold it to Michael Thomas way back then. Sure do wish I had kept it. If you ever decide to sell it, let me know please.
There is also an Encore model made by the Doug. |

I don't see a pad on that guitar, S-10.
I think that's just a standard professional model ZumSteel. You can date it with the chart Scott posted, and there are a number of features that changed over the years. But all fine guitars. That is a guitar one can play for a lifetime. |

Before the Stage One, there was an economy model all-pull guitar made by Bruce. That's not what Brad has. That's a pro Zum.
I'm just adding that to the list of models. Bruce said he made a couple dozen of them in the late 70's. I've got a client with one of them. |

Thanks. IF I decide to sell it, I'm going to sell it locally. _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel
