Have any of you folks ever worn out a polymer bar, like a Tribo-Tone, or similar?
I have an old Tribo-Tone that is starting to seem different than it used to be. Maybe my strings are shot, but it seems like the bar isn't exactly making contact with strings like it always has. It's still slick, but looks pretty worn. I feel like I'm having to use more pressure to keep it connected to the strings.
What's your experience been with long term use of these bars? I'm about to order a new one from Clinesmith to replace my beloved Tribo-Tone, 5.5oz, 7/8 bar.

| Rick, I use an Ezzee Slide polymer bar on pedal steel and have no issues with it. I've found the best way to keep the bar polished is to use Autosol Aluminum polish. |

I've used Tribo Tones/EZ Slide/Clinesmith bars for a long time (as well as some I made myself). My experience has been that as the gloss sheen goes down and it gets a more matte finish look, the bars have actually become smoother and less noisy on the strings.
My main bar is a tapered one that Basil made for me a number of years ago. It's a lot less shiny than it was when I got it, but I think it plays even better.
