We're now offering a mini version of our steel-friendly overdrive pedal, the Earth Drive. Same sound, same circuit, but no internal battery, runs on a 9v power supply. MUCH smaller.

I've got one on order. So, that makes me a "Two Earth Drive" family. |

Brad -
Where would the Earth Drive/Earth Drive mini be placed in a signal chain that utilizes the Sarno Black Box?
Thanks for any input/suggestion! |

Hey Greg. It would go after the Black Box, and depending on the type of overdrive effect you want, you can place it before OR after the volume pedal.
Placed before the VP, you get a consistent and even amount of overdrive and have total control of the volume with the VP
Placed after the VP, you get more overdrive the louder you move the VP. You also lose a lot of volume control this way since the VP becomes more of a controller of the amount of overdrive but not really a master volume control. This effect is more like what you'd get by overdriving an amp, the louder you play, the dirtier the overdrive.

Yes! I can’t see on the two pix on page. Please tell me the power input is in a better spot and I’ll buy one! Great pedal. Set it up every gig for steel. But if inputs still on side bated breath that at least the power input more convenient? |

Josh,
Appears to be on the left side of the pedal. I don't have any original full-sized version.....is that the same?

I bought the Earth Drive Mini about a month ago, and it stays on my small pedalboard. I like it for when I need overdrive, but also, especially for live gigs, just to add, depending on which steel and the room, a little grit to the sound when the signal is seems too clean. Also, it's nice that it doesn't take up much space.
The guitarist Nels Cline is also a big fan of the Sarno Earth Drive (he raved about the mini version) and has recommended it to guitarist friends. _________________ www.susanalcorn.net

Hey everyone,
I really love both the Earth Drive regular and the mini drive. Thanks to Brad and his team for a great pedal option for Steel Guitar.
