We all have been there. I call it "getting your feet wet". She is going to progress and learn a bunch on the band stand.Good for her! She is well on her way.Great to see young folks learning pedal steel. |

Reminds me of me, but I was 23 at the time.
I bought a new ShoBud Crossover and did not even know how to do anything.
I tuned everything 'straight up' and just laid the bar across the strings.
I played bass in a local band every Fri-Sat night. Two months into steel, my band leader called and said I had been replaced, BUT I had been rehired as the new steel player.
Everything I know (which is very little), was learned on the bandstand. You are forced to play, like it or not and no backing up and starting over.
It is the best thing you can do.
And find you a good 6 string guitar player. You can learn so much from them.
Best of luck on your journey

That's the way to do it! You will learn more in one afternoon or evening playing live, than a whole month in the basement or music room. You can learn and have fun at the same time. Keep it up! _________________ Many play better than I do. Nobody has more fun. |
