I first thought this was a 705 but found out it's a 605.
$120.00 includes shipping in the lower 48.

What's the ohms reading? Do you have a mounting base (wide/narrow)?
Thanks! |

Dave it read 15.9. I was told between 15-16k is a 605. It doesn’t have a base plate. Jerry Overstreet has base plates.

Just so there's no confusion, the Dave that's buying this pickup is me. Since I'm a moderator, I'm gonna wait to close this until Tony gets his money. |

These are highly underrated pickups due to comparison to the 705. But they have a very distinct solid and consistent tone I’ve found in no other pickup. They’re brighter than the 705, obviously. But the brightness isn’t brassy or lacking in tonal range. Those who are fans of the 60’s tone produced in Shobud or Emmons, for example, would be happy with this pickup. Of course the tonal characteristics of the steel itself has an impact. But I’ve used these on a few different steels and was quite impressed when paired with both a S-10 & D-10 MSA lacquered bodies. The darker tone of these MSA’s paired with the 605 was very nice and I preferred it over the 705’s I had installed previously.

Yeah, David - that's what I'm hoping for. This is going into the E9 position of my ZumSteel D10. The slightly lighter-than-normally wound Truetone sounds very good. But there are places I play (including sometimes at home with the blasted fluorescent and LED lights they're shoving down our throats) where the hum is just intolerable. There are times when I am practically practicing in the dark to keep the noise down. The 705 is also very good, but on this guitar, I prefer a bit lighter-wound, less midrangey pickup. |

There are not of lot of these out there and hopefully this isn't thread spamming but I thought I would point out that my 507 pickup (analagous to the 705) can just as easily be a 15.9K resistance pickup called the 506. Can also do the 805 oops I mean 508. _________________ Scott Swartz

That's good to know, Scott. If this does what I hope it does, I may be in line for some under-wound 50X pickups. |
