Topic: P/p set collar in nyc? |

| Does anyone in the New York area have any extra Emmons p/p rod set collars they’d be willing to sell? Or if not, extra set screws for the same (is this something you can find at a generic hardware store)? One of the set collars on my instrument keeps loosening and falling off and I’m not sure if it is the collar or the screw but I need to figure something out quick before a gig coming up. |

Dunno about NYC, but if you know the size, you can buy set collars online at many places such as amazon, McMaster Carr, Grainger etc.
Amazon is usually the fastest to respond and deliver...sometimes next day.
The set screw may be of a different size than the stock Emmons, but most times, the seller will include the hex wrench of the correct size. |

| I had one doing that. I carefully got all the oil out it using lighter fluid & canned air & put a tiny amount of blue loctite on the set screw. So far it has stayed tight. You can also get purple loctite which is weaker but may not be a stocked item. Here in Texas hardware stores have assortment drawers of set screws, you might find the screw there. (Not in Texas, but in your town😁). |

The thread size is 8-32, and it is 1/8 inch long, the allen wrench size is 5/64. Any hardware store should have them.
