Rickenbacker CW-8 Console Steel Guitar Natural Maple Vintage 1957 Jerry Byrd ’Style’
finished in a beautiful figured Natural Maple made in early 1957
Serial number 7131, Rare model which 5 years later became the also seldom-sighted Rickenbacker Jerry Byrd 8-string console.
The CW8 was the same as the Jerry Byrd model around 1962 .. 22.5 short scale.
Scale is 22.5 string spacing at nut is 5/16' and at saddle 7/16' .. Walnut body .. aluminum undercarrage steel legs ..
This one sounds amazing--it sings like only a horseshoe pickup can. Original case and legs----in beautiful condition, particularly the mirror-like chrome on the legs. Gloriously preserved birdseye maple body to delight your eyes and ears. Looks to have been kept under a bed. There is a small patch of worn finish on the back shown in the pictures. Dual tone controls, single volume control. The essence of late 50s high style.
Comes with the original Rickenbacker case also in good fully working condition.
