I just ordered a Jackson Maverick HD and have a question that someone might be able to answer. in most of the pictures on their website and all of the videos I have seen the Maverick HD has polished aluminum end plates and looks great. But in at least two pictures on their website, these items are painted black and the whole instrument looks much cheaper. Does anyone know if this is now their standard finish on this instrument. If so, I may want to cancel my order.

I believe I just answered my own question. Looking back at the website, the instruments with black painted end plates were six string instruments. Apparently, that is the way they finish these instruments. I would conclude that the 10 string instruments are polished aluminum has shown in the other photographs. Hopefully I am correct about this.

I like mine. It has the chrome ends. It looks like the 6 string version has the black ends. As long as you can deal with the pull release mechanism it's a very solid instrument.

I've watched both videos on how to adjust this instrument several times. I think I can deal with that. Can't wait till mine comes in. Thanks for your reply.

John, can you adjust the height of the pick up on your Maverick HD? I just received mine earlier this week and would like to lower it a bit. Presently you can barely slide one quarter under the strings. Is this about how low your strings are? Mine sounds a bit shrill on the high G# string. Hoping I can lower the pick up a bit to soften this. Thanks for your reply.

Mine has 4 screws that the pickup is mounted with I would think adjusting those would set the height I've never messed with mine it is quite close to the pickup.

Thanks John. I appreciate your reply. Mine has the same arrangement as yours, but I don't believe it's adjustable.
