I don’t know that there is an actual difference between the Tim Graves signature model and the Beard R (solid) mahogany other than Tim’s signature. I have played several examples of the Beard R Mahogany over the years and prior to the significant price jump a few years back I have always felt it was the best bang for the buck guitar of the higher end models in the Beard product line. I would be happy to own one but I already have some nice squareneck resonators.

It doesn’t have quite the volume and power of the large body Beard E models - but it is no shrinking violet - it will hang in just fine in about any unplugged acoustic jam scenario. And it’s great looking instrument as well.

The Graves model is a cosmetic variation of the Beard Mahogany R.

Paul has been building that model since 1985 and despite the advent of larger bodied (Beard E body) guitar, the R remains popular and has become somewhat of a "classic" build.

Have questions?

Call the Beard shop 301-733-8271

I have one in my arsenal! Smile
