Here is a great rendition of "Rose Colored Glasses" by John Conlee, the original singer. WOW!

And, I have always been blown away by Zane King's Steel instrumental of this song.

Just recently, I taught myself how to play "Rose Colored Glasses" as an instrumental on pedal steel. It's now one of my favorite songs to play on pedal steel. One of my favorite memories of the song has a lot to do with the pedal steel-the year was 1989, and I went to the Carolina Opry country music show in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Their staff band was incredible, and they had a steel guitarist named Myron Smith, and he played a ZumSteel. During the show, there was a man onstage who would sing a medley of different country songs, and after finishing "All My Rowdy Friends Are Comin' Over Tonight", the piano player in the band played the first part of "Rose Colored Glasses" and then Myron played an incredible steel part after the piano part before the first verse. I was sitting in the audience listening to the music, and was sitting right in front of the steel guitar, and that's when I started loving the steel!
