Can you replace individual tuners on the old Fender pan style keyheads? I have one on the 6th string that is a little wonky. I think I may have bumped it when setting it up on the bench to work on it.
It's on a Fender Artist pedal steel. Same as other Fender pedal steels...2000 or maybe Maverick... maybe Kluson?
If so, is there a source for these? I don't need the whole pan, just one individual tuner if such a thing is replaceable.
Or are they 5 on a plate tuners just concealed under the tray mounting? Either way, I'd like some info.

Thanks Jim. I looked there earlier, but didn't see any 5 on a plate strips. Maybe I'll pull the tuner pan up so I can see the design and make up. |

OK, I see WD Music sells 5 on a plate Klusons for $105 so I'll have to think that over. Anybody have a good used bass side 5 strip? Thanks. |

Jerry...
I have one NOS Fabrique au Chine set of five-on-a-plank tuners with metal buttons left over from earlier projects. There are two string holes on each post. Used one set to make a "modern EHARP copy" and several others for various ethnic instruments. Email, not PM, me your address and I will send them although there will be a few days delay as I am backed up right now.

This can be closed. Michael helped me out. I also learned a little something about these pan style tuners in the process.
Thanks everybody. |
