1937 Epiphone Electar w/ matching amp $1500

1937 Epiphone Electar lap steel w/amp. 7 string guitar and matching amp. according to the Epiphone registry only four 7 string horseshoe pickup lap steels were made that year. this is the rare 3 knob version with an amazing sounding horseshoe pickup. after 1937 epiphone went to a different pickup design because rickenbacker claimed that epiphone was infringing on their patent. this guitar and matching amp were purchased in 1937 and owned by one lady until her death in 2017. the combo sounds great and is exactly what you'd expect from an amp with an octal pinned, metal jacketed preamp tube. the amp is completely original including the tubes except for a replaced power cord. the original cord jacket was brittle and you could feel the breaks in it. i had my amp tech swap it out with a cloth jacketed cord and it looks great. also included is the original hard shell guitar case and the original tone bar. this is a great sounding and original set of gear. won't separate because that'd just be wrong after all these years. will entertain trade offers for fender guitars of equal value (mia or mij only). any questions please ask.would prefer local sale but will ship at buyer's expense. in tucson. pm for pics. thanks. $1500 + shipping
