A band I'm in has been auditioning new lead guitarists, and we really liked the one who auditioned last night (and offered him the role). But my sound was a little weird. Everything was gainier and dirtier than I usually play. But we were jamming and having fun, so other than messing a bit with the gain and volume knobs on my Milkman 100, I just rolled with it.

Time to tear down at the end of the night, and I found I'd accidentally turned on the boost and left it on all night! That explains the gain. But it was so much fun that way, I might just start doing that from now on. For the hippie-tonk stuff we play, a little dirt is a Good Thing. Smile

That is a good oops!

On my 'The Amp 100,' I run with that boost on all the time. With the knob at about 12 O'clock, it's mostly clean... unless I really lay in and pick hard and jam down the volume pedal, which introduces a slight bit of creamy tube hair.

Sounds like it was the same sort of 'mostly clean' thing for you -- since you didn't even realize the boost was on until the end of the night.

Nice. I sometimes like a little sparkle/presence. A lil gain can be real fun.
