I have a Dobro model 60-D I got about twenty years ago when OMI handled them. The tuners are worn out. The teeth on the gears have smoothed and won't fit the key worm. What tuners could I use to replace these? I'd like to have a primo set that would last about another twenty years. The ones that are now worn out are Schallers. Thanks.

I installed these StewMac Golden Age tuners on my 1981 60-D:

They fit into the existing holes, and they're marvelously adequate. Just be sure to lube the gears before installing, as mine were dry and stiff when received. After a shot of teflon grease they loosened up quite nicely and have been working fine since installation almost six years ago.

Kluson has tuners that should fit. Pull one of the tuners and MEASURE it. Overall length of the plate and the distance BETWEEN THE SHAFRS.

Kluson has both plastic and metal buttons that you can choose from.
