Gennerally, relative humidity should be kept between 35% and 55%. Higher than than 55% promotes expansion, finish fogging, and fugus. Lower than 35% can promote shrinkage. Also, rapid temperature changes can cause finish cracking, so don't take a guitar that's been in cold temperatures overnight, and expose it to heat. Ideally, such a guitar should be left in the case for a half hour or so, in order for it to acclimate to the higher indoor room temperatures. |
