Hi all,
I recently got a used Sunrise pickup and preamp to try on my Weissenborn Madonna. I'm happy to report that is sounds GREAT! Cool Very acoustic, which is what I wanted.

I tried it with/without the preamp and was suprised how much better the preamp made it sound. So then I tried another weiss-style guitar that has a Seymour-Duncan Mag/Mic pickup. The preamp really changed the sound (for the better) and I'll need to readjust the pole pieces of the 1st and 2nd strings to balance it.
Looking at the itty-bitty circuit hidden inside shrink tube, it can't be much more than a single FET, but wow!
Anybody else have an experience like that to share?

Those things are rare as hen’s teeth. The ones I’ve heard on 6 string acoustics are truly amazing.
