From the 1972 album “Eat A Peach.”

So I’m playing with a guitarist who does a bang-up job on this song. There are 4 places in “Blue Sky” where the guitars twin. I think it’s Duane playing the harmony lines and that’s what I’ve tabbed for the steel; I’m just hitting chords the rest of the song:

#1 – 0:30
#2 – 0:48
#3 – 2:29
#4 – 3:58

A couple of notes:
The timing is not 100% accurate – I’ve provided a link to the YouTube to help with that. Also, we know that most any lick or melody can be played in multiple places on the pedal steel. I tried several combinations for lick #4 before settling on the one here. My preference would be to use hammer-ons at the second fret but I can’t get all the notes to ring out equally and cleanly, and my fingers won’t move fast enough on other combinations. Lastly, my advice on #4 is to leave in the B pedal raise and the 9th string lower the whole time so you can focus on your picking.

ADDED 5/4/2024: New tab for harmony #4

A recent thread about '2-footing' got me thinking about "Blue Sky" and sure enough using two feet enables me to overcome my sluggish right hand and helps me (mostly) keep up with the guitar player. See below.
