Converting wide-mount to narrow-mount

I have an old chrome narrow-mount Bill Lawrence 705 pickup. But I need it to be a wide-mount. Can I just unscrew the 2 plate screws, remove the narrow-mount vinyl plate and then put a larger plate on?

Yes you can. These original BL705s came with both plates.

If you need a wide mount plate, I think I still have some I made up.
