The story!

This is inspiration. It is behind a paywall but well worth the read! 18 y/o. High functioning autistic with an extraordinary talent.

"Unlike most teenagers, Faulkner is translating these influences into a dedicated music career. Using the handle Pedal Steel Noah, he posts daily covers of ’80s New Wave and post-punk hits on Instagram and TikTok, interpreting the work of acts like the Smiths and Tears for Fears on one of the hardest instruments to master. Along the way, he’s made fans of Neko Case, Big Thief,"

Nice article. I've been following Noah's posts on Instagram for quite a while and he follows mine. Thumbs up for this 16-year old who posts a pedal steel clip every day to his 67,000 followers. And his dog in every clip!

Howard, Thanks for posting this and Mike for access!

What a great story, really nice to see, and great that Lloyd helped him get started. I'm looking forward to hearing his music and wish him much success!

I'll echo Craig - "Howard, Thanks for posting this and Mike for access!"

As the grandfather of a 10YO boy, also highly functioning but also on the Autism spectrum, it's great to see what can happen. So far ours has not shown more than a passing interest in my steel demonstrations and music, but there is no telling when the focus can suddenly shift and away they go on to new heights.

great to get the backstory here (thanks Mike). I've seen a few of Noah's videos but had no idea the amount of content he's posted! I imagine he'll gain quite a few more followers with this article, I'm glad to be one of them. as an 80s kid, I've got a real soft spot for a lot of those songs and have a lot of fun playing some of them myself

I've seen and dug his stuff for a while but had no idea of the context, which is both relevant and irrelevant (all in a good way).

I looked him up on YouTube and watched a variety of his videos. He does a great job. Glad to see a young man doing what he does.
