Building a B (small) rig. Double instrument- steel and guitar. Any recommendations for a 2-instrument input-2-channel preamp with EQ? Ill add that sound good with both. Reverb a plus.
Been using an Ultra Sound DI max but the eq section is a tone killer.
The RedEye Twin only has a treble control.
What else is out there? |

Thanks Jay. It might come down to a small mixer ..was trying to avoid that ..lol. Look forward to hooking up your amp. Its still in "weather delay".
A dual input Fender Twin type pre with digital reverb would be nice if someone would make one. wink |

Years ago a small mixer worked great for my sister in law, Keys, and guitar. Her amp setup was a Peavey Bandit and a TNT using the crossover in the TNT, great full range output! |

This meets all the items on your wish list except reverb, it's the EBS Stanley Clarke Signature Acoustic Preamp. Two inputs, two channels, each with extensive EQ, and switching to one output for your amp. You can put a reverb pedal in the FX Loop. Made for acoustic bass so the frequency range should be fine for steel. If you get one from a source that will take returns (Sweetwater for example) it's a pretty safe bet.

Look at the online music stores like Sweetwater, Musicians Friend etc.
Search on 2 channel guitar preamplifiers. There are a bunch of them. The descriptions are pretty good so you should be able to find one that fits your needs starting around $300 new.
Another option is one of the modeling units. Some good rack mount ones from prior years and possibly current issue. |
