Bobby Seymoure (spelling ?) used to play the travis style on steel...i think he played it on C6th but cant remember. he used to attend the CAAS (Chet atkins appreciation society) annual convention in Nashville, and always played a set with Bob Saxton, a Kentucky style thumb picker.
Keep it up, I love thumb pickin !

Nicely Done Paul! You probably are a Finger style player on regular guitar and at some point worked it out for Steel? I have been using E9th for this style for a long while and have a course available for those wishing to learn more ways to play E9th.
The following is a link to my Soundcloud site and Freight Train is included in the list of songs for those interested.

Thanks Larry! I'm still hanging in there. Glad to see you are active musically (quite a collection of instruments)

I remember our Nashville meeting very well. Our mutual friend Larry Lynch has sadly since left us.

Take care and Happy New Year.

Roy

That is so nice and laid back. Her guitar is strung right handed but she plays it left handed. So the strings are upside down. Amazing woman!!!

I like your playing on freight train, Roy. I'm a finger picker 6 string player, yes. I always wanted to play that on the pedal steel. Where can I learn about your course?

Paul,

The Course is very comprehensive and takes one through the basics and gradually leads to advanced arrangements. It is all sent by email attachment both the Tablature Pages and the MP3 sound files. Standard E9th Tuning.

I received your email earlier and will answer you today.

Roy
