I bought a push pull recently and one of the leg clutches needs help. The split ring and the beveled (brass?) ring seem to be in fine shape. I think the threads are stripped in the first centimenter or so of the clutch. If I remove the split ring and brass ring, the clutch will thread on. If I put in just the split ring, it will thread. But when I use the brass ring and split ring, I can't get the threads to engage. Any fix? If not, should I just purchase a new clutch assembly from Atlas mic? I'm aware of the wood dowel fix (currently in use), but would like to get it back to full functionality. |

Check where the treads are stripped at. If the missing or pulled threads are in the screw on sleeve you tighten the legs with. Order a repair kit, With a new sleeve included in the kit.
If the threads on the leg itself, Are stripped or pulled, You would have to get a new leg to solve the problem.
Check the threads on both parts, Then decide what will cure the problem.
Using a dowel rod for a quick fix will help, Till you get new parts for the long term cure.
Good Luck on project and Happy Steelin. |
