Fresh from a complete tear-down and rebuild, this superb 1983 Zumsteel Tone Master has a 3-up/2-down changer with Bruce's individual string return compensators, and holds its tuning very well. Copedant is full Emmons on both necks plus a split Franklin (P4+RKL) on the E9 neck, as shown in the chart below. This guitar plays like a Zum should and sings like crazy, with glassy highs, warm lows, and something really special going on in the mids that makes me want to practice all day long just to hear it. Unfortunately after much expense and dozens of hours invested, unexpected medical bills force me to part with it. Such is life, but it still beats the alternative.

Available as built at 1" under-height (29.5" floor to top neck strings), or a standard 30.5" top string height with new legs from Mullen and 1" rod extensions installed as seen in the photos. I will be happy to discuss any personal setup needs.

Includes new Hatton hardshell split cases (49 lbs w/wheels + 20 lbs) and Out West leg bag.

$6800 plus the ride. As ever I prefer driving over shipping but remain flexible, talk to me.

Wow I’m pretty sure your Zum is the same year model Bruce has for his personal steel.
