Tablature KILLS SKILLS.
The uses of Tablature is addictive and has been linked to reduced musical fertility.
Those who produce Tablature did never use it.

I say it humorously, but I mean it.

300 per year? That’s pretty good production considering all that high end hand crafting. Must be quite a team.

Yeah, I remember John calling me all excited in the second half of the 90’s when Carter first reached that number! 😂

I bet pedal harpists bicker over tuning. And picks or no picks 😎

Of those 300/year that Camac produces, I wonder how many of them are the $70k variety that is featured in the video.

Stravinsky complained that harpists spend half their time tuning and the other half playing out of tune.

And before anyone asks, they tune in equal temperament Smile

Building a pedal harp is like a whole different universe compared to assembling a PSG. It's like going from building with Duplo blocks to crafting a tiny ship in a bottle. The level of skill and patience needed must be off the charts.

Very Happy Very Happy

Was it Stravinsky or Nostradamus predicting about Pedal Steel Guitars?
