Howdy folks, I have been meaning to post some pics of this guitar that I purchased a couple of months ago, in a package deal, from an old friend. The other guitar is the 73’ 6 string Fender Deluxe that just sold here on the forum. Long story short, my friend collected about 50 lap steels back in the 90’s….all kinds and makes. I purchased my very first lap steel, 1937 Recording King Roy Smeck, from him a couple of years ago….which I still have. So, this time I was on the hunt for a Rick B6 panda (that I could afford) but this was the closest thing that he had to it. Turns out, that it’s basically the same guitar with a different color scheme and only built for the Bronson company. The dang thing sounds like an organ…if that makes sense!! Haha
Absolutely beautiful tone with lots and lots of sustain!! Heavy too, never thought that one of these cast Bakelite guitars would weigh this much. Totally original, right down to the case!
1945 Bronson Melody King. And yes sir, she’s the One!! Love at “first chord”!!

Cool look with those gold pickguards on it. The headstock cover seems like a nifty fifties kind of idea. How does it stay on? That light colored screw at the top of the logo? |

Thanks Jack, the Bakelites are the real deal! Joseph the headstock cover hinges from a fabricated plate that is not visible until the cover is lifted for string changes. The small screws hold the logo to the headstock cover plate.
