Does anyone have the wiring diagram for a Carter D10? I have a broken wire (white wire)coming from my E9 pickup and can't tell which terminal on the terminal strip it is supposed to be soldered to. I have a gig on Saturday and need to get it running. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Richard,
On my Carter, the E9 pickup (Alumitone) white wire attaches to the 2nd terminal (from the changer). There are two black wires attached to the same terminal. One is from the C6 side. The other from the neck switch.
Hope this Helps.

This is from an old post by Jon Light:
INSTRUCTIONS FOR WIRING PICKUPS ON A DOUBLE-NECK CARTER:
There are 3 wires coming out of the body that go to the neck switch. They
are White, Black and Red.
Each of the George L's pickups has 3 wires: Red, Black, and Bare (no
covering). There are 2 wires coming from the Jack mounted in the END PLATE.
They are Black and Red.
The pickups should be wired this way:
When looking at the bottom of the guitar at the solder strip with 4
positions, (with the CHANGER on the LEFT side), the 2nd from the left will
be the Place to attach AND Solder TOGETHER the FOLLOWING WIRES:
EACH of the 2 pickup's Black and Bare wires and ALSO the Black wire that
goes to the Jack in the END PLATE.
The Red Wire coming from the Jack at the END PLATE AND the Red Wire coming
out out of the Body that goes to the switch in the neck should be attached
and then Soldered TOGETHER at the left-most terminal of the solder strip.
The Red Wire from the E9 pickup should be attached to the White Wire coming
out of the Body that goes to the switch in the neck and Soldered TOGETHER
using Terminal 3 or 4 of the solder strip.
The Red Wire coming from the C6 pickup should be attached to the REMAINING
Black wire that comes out of the body that goes to the switch in the neck
AND Soldered TOGETHER using the REMAINING Terminal in the solder strip. _________________ Howard Parker

Here ya go !
INSTRUCTIONS FOR WIRING PICKUPS ON A DOUBLE-NECK CARTER:
There are 3 wires coming out of the body that go to the neck switch. They are White (E9), Black (C6) and Red (Output).
There are 2 wires coming from the Jack mounted in the END PLATE. They are Red (Output) and Black (ground).
* All George L's pickups have 3 wires: Red (hot), Black, and Bare (no covering).
The Black and Bare wires form ground when connected together.
* All Bill Lawrence pickups use a single white wire (hot) and a single black wire (ground).
* All Wallace TrueTone pickups use a single white (hot) and a single bare wire (ground).
The pickups should be wired this way:
* When looking at the bottom of the guitar at the solder strip with 4 positions, (with the CHANGER on your LEFT side),
attach AND Solder TOGETHER the FOLLOWING WIRES to Terminal 2 (2nd from the left) of the Terminal Strip::
o EACH of the pickup's ground wires AND the Black wire that goes to the Jack in the END PLATE.
* The Red Wire coming from the Jack at the END PLATE AND the Red Wire coming out of the Body that goes to the
switch in the neck should be attached and then Soldered TOGETHER at terminal 1 (the left-most) of the solder strip.
* The Red Wire from the E9 pickup should be attached to the White Wire coming out of the Body that goes to the switch
in the neck and Soldered TOGETHER using Terminal 3 or 4 of the solder strip.
* The Red Wire coming from the C6 pickup should be attached to the REMAINING Black wire that comes out of the body
that goes to the switch in the neck AND Soldered TOGETHER using the REMAINING Terminal in the solder strip.
* If the E9th and C6th necks are wired in reverse, switch the pickups' HOT wires between the black and white wires that go
to the switch. Use the same instructions and solder the white wire to the same location as the HOT pickup wire. _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9

Hi,
I would like to change my switch from a 3 position to a 2. Does anyone know what brand these switches are or where I might get one??
Thanks |
