I bought a used pedal steel to learn on from a very short (maybe 5 feet tall) woman who had had the steel sized for her.
I was able to lift it with some new legs and rods, and am using a drum throne as a seat, set at 22 inches.
She included a Sho-Bud seat with the steel but it, too is very short. Not quite 17 inches high and the legs are 6" tall.
Can I just bend conduit for new legs (is conduit strong enough for a 230 pound player?) or is there somewhere to buy new legs? The bends in the legs seem very small radius compared to my bender.
Sorry for the cobwebs - I haven't been using this seat.

| My steel seat was too short. The legs appeared to be 3/4 EMT conduit. So I bought 4 EMT couplings and cut 4 short pieces of EMT, screwed them together. Now my seat fits me, albeit with less attractive legs. |

| There is several posts on raising the seat if you do a search. Standard height is 21 but that can be varied by a players size. 3\4 EMT is fine. I bent a set for my homemade seat and used a torch to help the metal flex. It ain't pretty. Some have them cut and welded back. Others put caps over the bottom with a pin to hold them. I raised a used seat with furniture leveling feet from Amazon. Just a one inch raise. Lots of options. Your bender wont do a back to back bend that close. I believe the harbor freight roller types will do it but you have a one time use expense. |

I have to raise everything 2”. For the seat, I used 1” aluminum rod and turned one end for a very light press fit into the ID of the conduit. The slugs insert an inch and a half or so..

| I did before I retired! 🤣 I was a machinist for 45 years, and spent the last 20 at a local shop where, if I have a small job, I still have some 'shop privileges'. 😄👍 |
