Thanks , Tim. I have a longtime Japanese buddy, in Hiroshima, Yoshio Taura, who used to have a record shop at the Sogo department store, and he loves "real" country music, so he's always sending me songs from before much of country music went South, so to speak, and I know many on the forum feel the same, so sometimes I like to post what he sends me.
Since I came to country music through country-rock, many of the records/songs he turns turns me onto are before I was born or was way small.
I've stayed at his house a few times and one the first records he turned me on to was Roger Miller's, "A Trip In The Country", with no one other than the Big E playing steel:
